September 13, 2006
Guttenberg, NJ - The Horror Channel, the premier broadband venue for the best Horror, Terror and Suspense programming, has entered into an agreement with nbbc, the newly created broadband arm of NBC Universal, for providing Horror Channel content to tens of millions of unique users worldwide. The deal also makes content from NBC, its affiliates and other nbbc partners, available to visitors of HorrorChannel.com. The Horror Channel will also share in broadband ad revenues. The announcement was made today by Nicholas Psaltos, Founder and CEO of The Horror Channel.
"This agreement with nbbc offers us the opportunity to reach the greatest possible audience looking for original, online programming," said Psaltos. "Broadband is quickly becoming the preferred venue for consumer entertainment, especially within the horror genre demographic."
The initial release available to the nbbc marketplace is The Horror Channel's original series, "Shadow Falls," which premiered Tuesday, September 12th on www.horrorchannel.com.
"Shadow Falls" is the industry's first-ever online horror series. Produced by Gunn Park Entertainment, and written and directed by Kendal Sinn, the initial season will feature eight episodes-each premiering every Tuesday night-leading up to a special Halloween night season finale.
Each of the eight episodes runs from five to 12 minutes, and unfolds through a sequence of vignettes, not necessarily in chronological order. Additional seasons are already in production.
A total solution for digital video syndication, nbbc allows content owners to earn new revenue through syndication and expose their brand to new viewers. Website owners earn incremental ad revenue with selected third party video programming; and advertisers reach an expansive audience across nbbc's premium network.
The Horror Channel is the premier broadband venue for the best Horror, Terror and Suspense programming. Launched in cooperation with its broadcast affiliates, NBC Universal's nbbc (National Broadband Company) is an independent business-to-business marketplace designed to aggregate, monetize and distribute both NBC Unversal and third party video to tens of millions of unique users worldwide.
